Topographic map

A topographic map is a class of maps to represents the contour of the land.  These are probably the most common type of map and show natural features as well as man-made in most cases.  The common scale for a Topographic map is 1:24,000-scale run by the USGS.  This map shows the land of the Allegany State Park.
